The DJSA 2008 series has come to a close, but the memories of this season will last forever. I sincerely
thank each and every racer, crew member, families, friends, and my incredible staff, for an awesome year of racing.
The biggest thing I learned this year? There isn't one thing amateur about this group in any way
at all, and I thank you all for conducting yourselves as true professionals at every race, both on and off the water.
I'm already looking forward to just as much fun in 2009 so
rest up, and get ready for another 14 race series coming your way next season. Results from race #14
and the end of the year standings will be ready soon.
My best wishes to you and your families for a Happy and Safe Holiday Season.
The pleasure my very special friends - has been all mine and I miss you guys already!!!
Take care - stay safe - and I'll see you very soon.

3 years ago I was sitting at the Antioch Speedway watching 2 of
my favorite kinds of dirt track racing - open wheel Midgets and Sprint cars. I
looked around the grandstands and saw hundreds of people having a great time. The gift shop was always a busy place selling
race programs, photos of favorite drivers, and of course - tee shirts. Good old fashioned down home dirt track racing
every saturdy night from March through October. If you dig track racing there is definately not a shortage of it here!!!
And then I started thinking about my other passion... PWC's. I don't know why, but sometime during the Sprint Car main event I started envisioning PWC's
racing at a local weekly venue, the same as what this local NASCAR track was running... I started wondering why there
were only 3 or 4 PWC races a year in our area, and thought it would be cool to set up a model of racing similar to that of
this very fun local dirt track. I never intended on hosting races but I definately wanted to race myself, so I made
some calls to the powers to be, to see if they would consider running local regional races on a regular basis...
To make a long story not as long, I didn't quite get the answers
I was looking for and more often than not, I didn't get any answers at all, so it all came down to this... put
together a race program myself, or it just wasn't going to happen at all. Using several years of past race
experience of my own, and much of my training and experience from work, I learned about such things as liability
insurance and special event permits. I hand selected an incredible staff, a well trained safety team, and here we are today - with 3 years and several hundred races under our belt.
Our first season consisted of point series races on wednesday evenings at a local
marina. Our 2nd season was run on sundays at
several different venues on the delta, and around the bay area. Our 3rd season moved to saturdays at racer's request, and
our 14 race point series visited some very respectable locations...The Oakley waterfront,
Salt Springs Valley Reservoir, The City of Suisun, The Pittsburg Seafood Festival, and a handful of races at Six Flags
Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo...
We have a long way to go to get to the same level as the Antioch Raceway, but looking
back on this past season, I'm very proud of where we're at. Our Ski Clinic / Concord
Kawasaki Safety Ski team, affectionately known as "Team Orange" is one of the best in the business. Our scoring and shore staff are also the best I have ever worked with, and I could not put on a single
race without them by my side.
Our very special race photographer Traci Cottle, takes over 1500 action pics from 8
different classes of skis, each running 3 heats of racing in a day - and without asking for anything in return
- makes them available for racers, fans, and enthusiast, to download, print, and mount on "walls of fame" everywhere.
I sit back and look at all the team tee shirts being worn in the pits... and then
have the pleasure of watching the most exciting and thrilling PWC races the Bay Area has ever seen... We're not Antioch
Speedway, but because of that very impressionable dirt track in Antioch, we are proud to have become "Diablo
Jet Ski Action."
We host monthly organized PWC events almost all year long!

The Costco of boating stores! Anything and everything you can
imagine isle after isle... This is why I never get anything done - I'm always crusing the isles of West Marine but WM
digs what we are doing and they have helped us out with buoys, anchors, hardware, and anything else we need to set
up a course. WM has also graciously donated several very cool PFD's we give to
the Safe Rider of the Day.
Jose and Heather of the Pittsburg store - thank you for being so cool!
Diablo
Boat Works -
Ramon and crew have been busting their tails off to get our
52 ft floating office back up and running. I have to say, there is no better boatyard in the area when it comes to Q u a l i t y ! Thanks guys... I know you're glad the beast
is finally out of your yard!
Concord Kawasaki Yamaha - -
Ed Landry and staff.... No words can ever say thanks enough
but thank you for your dedication in promoting the safety aspects of the sport.
Your efforts do not go un-noticed and without you, there would
be no DJSA!
Oakley Sport -
Jerry and crew... As always we thank you for your help
along the way, and the support you give our riders. Sales must be good - we're starting to see more Sea Doos on the course!!!
Caffino of Oakley -
THANK YOU for always keeping me going....
8 - 32 oz non fat iced coffees a day keeps the doctor away!
West
Coast Canvas of Lodi -
Curt Page and team probably produce the best quality canvas
work I've seen throughout the entire Bay Area... Whether its a transformation of your boat (which will look like new) an
awning for your business, or window canvas for the motorhome - these guys are the pros. (plus Curt is a total "Delta Dude", PWC
rider, and supporter of DJSA)
This is how it usually goes a couple days before a special
race... While running around like a chicken with my head cut off I suddenly remember I forgot to order trophies! I race into
Crown out of breath, and Jack Cotta simply smiles and asks how many I need, and
how soon do I need them...
Jack created the beautiful trophies at last years series finale,
and provided the patriotic flag trophies at Salt Springs for our 9-11 tribute race. Saying thanks never seems like enough,
but Jack and Suzie - Thank you so much for adding that special "something - something" at our special races.
